Ludovina Maria Azevedo Rodrigues and Germano Couto

Ludovina Maria Azevedo Rodrigues received her midwifery training in South Africa, where she worked at the Johannesburg General Hospital. She now works in a hospital in Portugal. She speaks English, Afrikaans and Portuguese.

Ludovina is involved with Midwives Association, working for a less medicalized attitude toward birth and encouraging a more active role for labouring women in Portugal. She is interested in learning of the experiences of midwives in other countries in which midwifery has been regulated, in order to resolve the issue in Portugal.
